Smyrna Summer Concert Series: June 10, Village Green Circle

 

The Smyrna Summer Concert Series couldn’t be more convenient for people who live right in town. Held at the Village Green, it’s a short drive from anywhere in Smyrna and offers plenty of great music over the summer.

 

On June 10, from 7pm to 10pm, The Get Right Band will fill the air with music. The band draws from numerous different influences to create a unique sound that’s heavy on improvisation and creativity. They list among their influences everyone from James Brown to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so be ready to dance, if you’re so inclined. Remember that this is a smoke-free event. The Women of Jazz et Soul: June 24, Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre

 

At 6pm on June 24 at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre you can check out Maysa Leak, Althea Rene, Lindsey Wester and Karen Briggs, who will be gracing the stage for some great music. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster and the doors open up at 5pm. Be sure to get there on time to get settled in for the show. It’s a short drive from Smyrna and well-worth the trip! The World’s Largest Inflatable Water Slide: Until September 4, Acworth

 

We’re not sure who ranks these things, but the Acworth Slide is the largest inflatable water slide in the world and you can go check it out in the space of a short trip. It’s located at the Dallas Landing Park on the Beach at 5120 Altoona Drive in Acworth. The slide is available Monday through Friday from 11am until 5pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 6pm. It’s a short drive, but it’s great for a getaway on a hot summer day!
